FRIENDS OF THE
PORTAGE TO PORTAGE PADDLING PROJECT

Elmore Holmes - Wood Working

Elmore has been a fantastic source of information for this trip.  After my stuff was stolen he offered up a loaner PFD to help me get back on the water.  At Christmas he and his wife Martha took me in so I wouldn't be alone for the holiday.  He makes his living by producing beautiful furniture in his wood shop.  Check out his web site to learn more about his wood working as well as paddling info.

Martha Kelly - Artist

Martha is a new and great friend.  She opened her home to me to get me in out of the wind and rain over Christmas. Deeply concerned and involved with her community she sets a good example of how we can all make a difference at home.  She makes her living as an artist doing amazing prints and paintings.

Camping on the Gulf

Camping on the Gulf is an awesome RV campground located right on the beach in Deston FL.  They took me in and make sure I was comfortable when strong winds kept me off the water for a day and a half when I was passing through the area.  If you're planning an RV trip to Northern Florida I highly recommend checking these guys out.  They have an amazing staff that will make you feel right at
