Follow my friend Glen Charles on his
11,000 mile bike ride around the United States

Many people have told me that they miss following my blog and are wondering if I will be writing about what I'm up to now days.  I can't say writing about my current daily life, framing and doing drywall, would be all that exciting.  However, if you feel like checking in on another adventure plese check out my friend Glen's web site following his 11,000 mile bike ride around the US.  Interestingly, his previous long distance paddling endeavors, and now his cycling, are part of a goal to travel (under his own power) 50,000 miles in five years.  He's got over 5300 exciting miles under his belt so far and I'm sure the next 44,700 will be just as much adventure.

Glen was paddling up the east coast in front of me last spring and I heard rumors of him as I chased him all the way to New York City.  I never did catch him before he turned east and continued up the coast and I kept going north up the Hudson River.  However, by shear chance, I did manage to catch up with him at a the Rough Water Symposium in Rhode Island in early June.  Glen is a great guy and fantastic photographer and I'm sure the accounts of his travels will be fun to read.

Through his travels Glen is trying to raise awareness of childhood obesity and inspire people to get out and be active.  He is certainly a guy worth checking out, and if you can afford it please throw a few bucks his way and to his cause.
