Day 96

3/12/2010

It was an eventful day on the water, as a strong tail wind swept me north along the Intracoastal from Juipeter Beach toward Fort Pierce I counted no less than eighteen manatee and one TORNADO!

You cannot dispute what Aaron's comment says. However, he sounds like he wants to be there and I am happy you were able to share it with us on film. Amazing! See you in a matter of days now!

WOW!!!!! I witnessed one tornado in my life, coming up behind a church that had a big sign on the front of it saying, "PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD". That was enough for me. Glad to know you were keeping an eye and ear on the weather situation.

Have fun this weekend and I hope you have much much better (or as Aaron would say, "gooder") weather.

Jake -
Pretty cool footage! In December, my girlfriend (Brenda) & I watched a waterspout come down from the clouds & hit the water, while we sat watching it on a chickee in Everglades National Park. Nowhere to run to, so we just watched, for about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, it was near dusk, so my camera didn't pic it up like yours did - well done!

"WOW" is right. Thanks for sharing this with us. My crazy sister would have loved to have been there with you watching this. Has to be something wrong with her, right? So glad you are watching the weather reports. Have a good weekend, but above all, stay safe.

Crazy footage. Great job. Looks like Florida is getting battered by storms again today. Be safe.

Hi Jake,
Holy Canoli what amazing footage. You are going to have many wonderful experiences to share when your trip is done. Maybe you will consider being a guest speaker at PCP club meeting after this adventure. I will stay tuned for more exciting footage. Keep safe!

Incredible. I think you just want some rough conditions like we had on the first day at the Golden Gate Kayak Symposium ;)

So glad Jake, that you got to California in a timely manner to help Jen with the Southwest Kayak Symposium... she has to be so grateful and I am sure is real glad to see you again:-)

Sorry it didnt work out for the Silver River adventure, but there is still plenty of time down the road, or should I say, down the river? I still want you to experience that river and all its glory, the wild rhesus monkeys playing in the trees, the multiple blue springs fed river with huge varieties of fish, turtles, etc. the fabulous waterfowl and of course resident gators.

Another trip, another time.

Maybe when you are a famous author, you will remember us and come visit (and paddle with us in central Florida)... We will plan much farther ahead next time and it will be on a weekend!

Have fun. Remember: Keep your paddle wet and your hair dry! Charlotte
