Another call-in report from Jake today, as he’s getting his ‘beauty’ sleep for his first big push north tomorrow.  Jake’s currently warm, dry and comfy as the good folks at Florida Bay Outfitters in Key Largo have put him up for the night.  Tomorrow he’s planning to make a long run into the wind up to Miami.

Jake,

Another page is turned.
Awe inspiring ride you are on, Portage, WI to the tip of Florida.

I am struck with the thought once again that, paddling from Historic Portage in either direction, east or west in our canal,
that 'its all down river from here'.

Looking forward to all of the adventures of your paddle back to 'Where the North Begins', which is Portage's catch phrase.
